It’s a good idea to book ahead when it comes to the Foodbarn Restaurant and there is even more reason to get dialling to book a spot when you see all the activity that’s happening in the month of May 2012. But before you read more about the May Madness - a small reminder to take advantage of the APRIL special – 50% off all food on the ala carte menu until the end of April for lunch Monday- Friday and the half price discount is valid for Tuesday evening the 24th April and Wednesday evening the 25th April as well!!!!
Franck’s cooking demonstrations for 2012 kick off on Wednesday the 9th May, 2012. These dems have become incredibly popular for anyone wanting to learn more about cooking from a master. The demos are interactive and each week Franck will demonstrate how to cook 2 – 3 dishes and you can watch, learn and ask for hot tips. Franck’s cooking demo’s are held every Wednesday throughout winter at the Foodbarn Restaurant. The cooking demo’s start at 18h30 and the best news of all – they are FREE with your dinner reservation.
Talking of dinner – the Foodbarn’s famous Winter Special starts in May – on the 2nd May 2012 to be exact! As in previous years Franck will create a 3 course, 4 course and 5 course meal from as little as R175 per person. The meal is paired with wines from a selected estate and the menu changes regularly. The Foodbarn Winter Special kicks off with Steenberg Wine Estate. Valid daily except Sunday lunch.
The other great thing about the Foodbarn is the continuity! When a winter special introduces a wine estate, you get a WINTER WINE EVENING! That’s right both Franck and the wine maker from the estate will be in attendance for an evening of wine and food – 4 courses and 4 wines for only R275 per person. The First Wine Evening of this year will be held on Saturday the 5th May 2012 with STEENBERG Wine Estate. Book early – these tickets sell out fast!
And last but not least – the extraordinary opportunity to sit at an intimate table with Franck Dangereux and Anthonij Rupert at the next Chef’s Table. Franck will conjure up 6 courses in his kitchen- each course will be paired with Anthonij’s wines (2 varietals and vintages per course). Everyone at the table gets to chat, eat, share, ask and discuss the food and wine. The next chef’s table will be held at lunch time on Friday 18th May 2012 – starve yourself as you will need all the space you can get for an exceptional experience.
