We love sharing feel-good stories as in today’s world it tends to be the bad news that sells and get the attention! We would like to introduce you to Sakhekile Masiza (called Sakkie), an employee of Lake Security. Lake Security has the contract of keeping Noordhoek Farm Village safe and secure. Sakkie is often one of the night guards at the village.
Before continuing with the tale of Mr Honesty … as this could be an excellent Roger Hargreaves “MR MEN” story and as far as I am aware there is no Little Miss Honesty or Mr Honesty in his collection…. I just want to share the dictionary definition of honesty…
hon·es·ty [on-uh-stee] noun, plural -ties.
1. the quality or fact of being honest; uprightness and fairness.
2. truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness.
3. freedom from deceit or fraud.
One Friday night, a patron at the Foodbarn Restaurant lost her wallet. Turns out her distress was extremely valid as it was actually a Prada Purse and filled with cash to the tune of R2500, as well as her credit cards and identification documents. She called the restaurant in a panic and the Foodbarn searched the restaurant to no avail. They then asked security and Sakkie the night guard had found the Prada Purse and kept it safe, until he knew who to hand it to safely. The women came to collect it.
Noordhoek Farm Village would like to thank Sakkie for his honesty and integrity. The saying goes “Honesty Pays” but in this case dishonesty might have been more profitable. We are so lucky to have people like Sakkie and the excellent team and staff of Noordhoek Farm Village looking after Noordhoek Farm Village.
Sakkie has been with Lake Security since March 2010 (he was previously employed by Compass Bakery) and passed his security training with flying colours. Well done and thank you from Noordhoek Farm Village.
PS: We have just heard that Sakkie was given a night out at the Spur with his wife and has received a salary increase!
