Halloween is an annual holiday usually observed on 31 October and commonly involves activities such as trick or treating, attending costume parties, telling scary stories , watching horror movies and playing pranks.
The name Halloween apparently originates in the 16th century from a Scottish verison of “All – Hallows – Even” – i.e. the night before All Hallows Day and is usually linked to the Celtic Festival of Samhain which roughly means “end of summer” and was a time for festive gatherings, whilst Scottish folklore used it as a setting for supernatural encounters.
Halloween will be celebrated at Noordhoek Farm Village on Saturday 29 October 2011
